Puerto Galera

Puerto Galera is located on the north shore of
Mindoro Island, Philippines, 130 kilometers south of Manila and 14 nautical
miles from Batangas City. Puerto Galera, or "Port of Galleons" literally
translated in Spanish, received its name from Spanish seafarers in the 16th
century. This excellent natural harbor surrounded by forested mountain
ranges became a regular stopover and a safe haven from typhoons for merchant
vessels as early as the 10th century.
